The following details will be mentioned in the JEE Main 2025 scorecard:-
Some important points regarding JEE Main 2025 Result are as follows:-
The percentile score of a candidate refers to 100 multiplied by the ratio of the number of candidates who scored equal to or less than the candidate and The total number of candidates who appeared in that session of a particular examination.
“For example, suppose a student has scored 350 out of 360. If the total number of students is 300000, and 290000 students score less than the candidate, then his percentile will be 100 x 290000/300000=96.66666666.”
The percentile of the NTA JEE main score is calculated to find out the relative performance of a candidate. It shows the percentage of candidates who score less than him/her. Here, the crucial thing to note is that the 100th percentile can be obtained without getting a perfect 100% in the exam. For instance, the topper gets 100 percentile as all the other candidates score lower than him/her.
If two candidates get the same total score. Certain steps are taken for tie-breaking during the preparation of the merit list. These are as follows:-
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 (January Session) results on its official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The results for JEE Main 2025 Session 1 Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) have been declared, while the results for Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning) will be released at a later date.
The percentile score of a candidate is determined by calculating the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or below them in a given examination session. To compute this, one multiplies 100 by the ratio of the number of candidates with scores less than or equal to the candidate in question to the total number of candidates who participated in that session.
The NTA JEE Main percentile indicates a candidate's relative performance compared to others, representing the percentage of candidates with lower scores.
Attaining the 100th percentile does not necessitate a perfect 100% score; it simply means having a higher score than all other candidates.
In this scenario, the candidate who secures the top position attains the 100th percentile since every other participant achieves a lower score than them.
Ranks will be released once both the sessions of JEE Main 2025 are completed. For the candidates who sit for both sessions, the rank will be decided on the basis of the best of the scores obtained in the two sessions. The percentiles of both sessions will be calculated to the 7th decimal for all the students. It is done to avoid the tie of scores. For the candidates who sit for only one session, the rank will be decided based on their performances in that session.
